Description

Pink Boa is a cocktail, not a dessert, crushed raspberry and a cold splash of vodka over blackcurrant, with rosemary and basil cutting through the sweetness like herbs bruised into the glass. Composed by Stéphane Humbert Lucas for his own house, 777, and released in 2022, it belongs to the more playful end of a line better known for dense ambers. Wearers overwhelmingly describe it in drinks language: pink lemonade, raspberry spritz, something served over ice. Underneath the fruit sits a quiet resinous foundation (amber, frankincense, patchouli and sandalwood) that keeps it from ever tipping into juice-box territory.

Scent Character

  • Sweet: 32%
  • Fresh: 27%
  • Woody: 23%
  • Smoky & Resinous: 18%

Translation: a sweet-fresh fruity built on a woody-resinous frame. The sweetness is fruit-driven rather than sugary, and the herbal top notes keep the whole composition tart and drinkable rather than dessert-like.

Fragrance Pyramid

Top: Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Rosemary

Heart: Raspberry, Vodka, Basil

Base: Amber, Frankincense, Musk, Patchouli, Sandalwood

Note: published references also list blackberry and lily of the valley in the opening and heart, and strawberry and peach among the softer base facets.

Performance

  • Longevity: moderate, most commonly 4–6 hours, with some wearers reporting 6–8. A minority find it fades inside 3–4 hours. Fruity-fresh compositions of this kind vary more between skin types than almost any other style.
  • Sillage: moderate; it announces itself in the first thirty minutes and then settles close to the skin.
  • Projection: around 2 feet early on, tapering to an arm's length.

An honest note: this is a bright, fruity, herbal composition rather than a resin bomb, so we would not promise all-day performance. Reapplication mid-afternoon is normal for this style.

Best Occasions & Season

  • Occasions: Evening, leisure and nights out, dinner, drinks, parties, warm-weather socialising.
  • Season: Spring and summer. The tart fruit and herbs are built for heat.
  • Gender: Unisex. The raspberry reads sweet, but rosemary, basil and the resinous base pull it firmly toward the middle.
  • Skip for: Formal winter evenings and conservative offices. There are better tools for those jobs in this house.

FAQ

Is Pink Boa for men or women?
Unisex. The raspberry-and-vodka accord is sweet, but the rosemary and basil in the opening and the resinous drydown keep it from reading as strictly feminine.

How long does it last?
Most wearers report 4–6 hours, with a meaningful number getting 6–8 and a minority getting less. It is a bright composition, not a heavy one.

Does it contain oud?
No. The smoky, resinous depth in the base comes from frankincense, amber and patchouli. There is no agarwood in the composition.

What does the 777 in the house name mean?
777 is Stéphane Humbert Lucas's own house, founded after years composing for other brands. The number is the house's signature, not a concentration or a batch code.
