Description

Y Le Parfum is the Y line taken somewhere colder and more resinous, same skeleton, considerably more shadow. Released in 2025, it opens on ginger and bergamot, then moves into an unusual heart of balsam fir and pine needles over geranium before settling on amber and patchouli. The evergreen accord is what separates it: where the rest of the range leans on apple and sage freshness, this one goes woody-resinous and slightly austere, which wearers consistently describe as the most grown-up entry in the family.

How It Differs From the Rest of the Y Line

The Y range is genuinely confusing. There are six of them and the names do not signal the differences. Y EDT is the bright, aquatic-fresh original. Y EDP is the sweeter, more popular workhorse built on apple and sage. Y EDP Intense deepens that further. Y Elixir is the densest and most modern of the set. Y Iced Cologne is the lightest, made for heat. Y Le Parfum, this one, is the odd one out: not simply a stronger EDP but a shift into fir, pine and amber. If the EDP has always struck you as too sweet, this is the one to try; if you love the EDP specifically, Le Parfum may read as a different fragrance rather than an upgrade.

Scent Character

  • Woody: 29%
  • Spicy: 29%
  • Fresh: 14%
  • Floral: 14%
  • Rich Ambers: 14%

Translation: woods and spice split the lead evenly, the fir-and-pine heart against ginger, with the remaining three fractions divided between the citrus opening, geranium, and the amber-patchouli base that gives the drydown its resinous weight.

Fragrance Pyramid

  • Top: Ginger, Bergamot
  • Heart: Balsam Fir, Pine Needles, Geranium
  • Base: Amber, Patchouli

Performance

Longevity: Strong, around 9 hours on skin is commonly reported.
Sillage: Medium to loud, and it holds well.
Projection: Substantial for several hours before settling.

An honest note: this is the better performer of the Y line and one of the stronger designer releases generally, so the practical advice is restraint rather than reassurance. Wearers coming from the EDT in particular should expect a noticeably heavier fragrance and dose accordingly.

Best Occasions & Season

Wearable year-round but strongest in Fall and Winter, and suited to Everyday and Leisure wear. The evergreen-amber structure suits cold air; in high summer the resins can feel dense. Substantial projection makes it a bolder office choice than the EDT.

Try Before You Commit

With six versions of Y on the market and names that do not tell you much, buying blind here is a genuine gamble. Plenty of people have bought Le Parfum expecting a stronger EDP and got something noticeably different. A decant answers that in one wear. A 1mL decant is $4.99, 5mL is $18.99, and 10mL is $26.99, all hand-poured from genuine retail bottles.

FAQ

Is Le Parfum just a stronger Y EDP?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about it. It is a darker, more resinous composition built on fir and pine rather than a concentrated version of the apple-and-sage EDP.

Which Y should I buy?
EDT for bright and aquatic, EDP for the sweet crowd-pleaser, Intense or Elixir for more weight, Iced Cologne for heat, and Le Parfum for the evergreen-amber direction. They genuinely differ in character, not just strength.

Does it contain oud?
No. There is no agarwood in it. The dark, resinous drydown is amber and patchouli.

Is it good for winter?
Yes. The fir, pine and amber structure is cold-weather material and is where this version makes most sense against the rest of the line.
