Description

Quercus is a bright, green-citrus cologne: Amalfi lemon, lime and bergamot over a mossy, galbanum-sharpened base.

Composed by perfumer Christian Provenzano and launched in 1996, Quercus (Latin for “oak”) is one of Penhaligon’s older, more classical colognes, predating the house’s Portraits and Trade Routes collections entirely. It opens on a burst of Amalfi lemon, lime, bergamot and mandarin orange, moves into a light floral heart of lily of the valley, jasmine and cardamom, and settles into a green, mossy base of oakmoss, musk, galbanum, sandalwood and amber. It’s a traditional eau de cologne structure, sparkling and green rather than sweet or heavy.
