Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow EDP Intense
Description
A whipped pink-marshmallow gourmand that swaps campfire char for pure confectionery softness, Kayali at its plushest.
Created by perfumer Gabriela Chelariu for Kayali, the Dubai-founded house behind the cult Vanilla | 28, Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 arrived in 2024 as an Eau de Parfum Intense. The “81” is not a note count. It is the number of formulation rounds the house went through before signing off on the juice. Fruit-lit on top and creamy underneath, it reads like toasted marshmallow folded into whipped vanilla, dusted with berry sugar that keeps it playful rather than heavy.
How It Differs From Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42
- Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81: softer and creamier: marshmallow, coconut and whipped vanilla over a clean musky-amber base. The gourmand equivalent of a cashmere blanket.
- Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42: brighter and more candied: crystallized sugar and fruit sparkle with a sharper, more overtly sweet edge.
- Choose | 81 for cosy, close-wearing comfort; choose | 42 when you want the sugar to read loud and glossy.

Translation: a marshmallow-and-whipped-vanilla core, lifted by lemon-and-apple brightness at the opening and grounded by pink musk and ambrox rather than wood. Sweet and creamy, never spicy, smoky or dark.

Performance
- Longevity: Honest answer. Reviews are genuinely split. Most wearers land around 4–6 hours on skin; some report 8 or more, others under 3. Skin chemistry matters more than usual with this one.
- Sillage: Moderate. Noticeable in the first hour, then it settles into a close, cosy skin scent.
- Projection: Roughly arm's length early on, intimate afterwards. Despite the “Intense” name this is not a room-filling projector, and it lasts markedly longer on fabric than on skin.
Best Occasions & Season
- Season: Best in Fall and Winter, when the creamy sweetness feels warmest; the fruity opening also works on cool Spring evenings.
- Occasions: Everyday wear, evenings and casual nights out.
- Skip for: Formal offices and hot, humid afternoons. Sugared gourmands read loudest in heat.
- Gender: Marketed and catalogued as a feminine gourmand, but nothing in the composition is gendered. It suits anyone drawn to sweet, creamy scents.

FAQ
Is there any wood or oud in it?
No. There is no woody or agarwood note in the formula at all. The depth under the marshmallow comes from pink musk and ambrox, which read clean and skin-like rather than smoky.
What does the “81” mean?
It is Kayali's house numbering, taken from the number of formulation rounds the fragrance went through before release, the same convention as Vanilla | 28 and Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42.
Is it too sweet for everyday wear?
It is unmistakably sweet, but creamy rather than sharp. One or two sprays wear comfortably day to day; heavier application is better saved for evenings.
How long will a 1mL decant last?
Roughly 8 to 12 wearings, enough to test it across several days and different weather before committing to a bottle.
