Acqua di Gio Parfum takes the sea air of the original and gives it a dry, herbal, resinous backbone. Alberto Morillas, who also composed the 1996 Acqua di Gio, created it for Giorgio Armani in 2023. It opens on marine notes and bergamot, turns aromatic through rosemary, geranium and clary sage, and dries down on olibanum and patchouli. Reviewers set it against the older Profumo: Profumo has the darker, ashier incense, while Parfum is brighter and more herbal, with the clary sage giving it a clean snap into the drydown. In 2024 it won the Fragrance Foundation's Fragrance of the Year award in the men's luxury category.
