Sequence opens Amouage's new Essences Collection, a 30%-concentration extrait from perfumer Julien Rasquinet, aged for six months with a double infusion of sandalwood chips and oakwood barrels before release. It's built on the idea of time as a circle rather than a line: a burst of lychee, raspberry, and red saffron gives way to rose and osmanthus warmed by tonka, before settling into a base of leather, real oud, and ambery woods. The effect loops rather than resolves: sweetness folding back into depth, and depth back into sweetness.
