Mountain Memories is misty oolong tea and dark cassis walking into a mossy, leathery forest. Released in 2024 by ROAN, the New York tea-focused house founded by Helen Lee, it was created with perfumer Ugo Charron as a portrait of the high mountains of Taiwan, where oolong is grown. It opens on oolong, black currant bud and pink pepper, passes through narcissus and jasmine, and dries down to oakmoss, leather, guaiac wood and patchouli. Reviewers call it a mossy wood scent with a strong undercurrent of tea, smoky and darkly fruity at the start, with the leather and oakmoss giving it real weight.
