Meliora (2013), composed by Nathalie Lorson, is one of Parfums de Marly's most literal tributes to its equestrian concept: the fragrance is named for a foundation mare of exceptional beauty in the royal stable, dam of the stallion Tartar, who in turn sired the celebrated racehorse Herod. Meliora opens with a rush of blackcurrant, red berries, and raspberry, moves into a bouquet of jasmine tea, ylang-ylang, and rose, and settles into a soft cedarwood-musk-vanilla base, a fruity-floral built for warm-weather daytime wear.
