Queening is a cozy vanilla-and-rum extrait: clean cotton and apple up top, orris, rum and saffron in the heart, whipped vanilla, fluffy musk and coconut below. Created by perfumer Christelle Laprade for Mind Games and released in 2023, its name borrows from chess, where queening means promoting a pawn to a queen. It opens clean and airy, turns powdery and boozy through orris and rum with a thread of saffron, and settles into a soft, creamy base.
