Description

Hanamachi is a powdery, old-world floral: iris, violet and rose, softened with heliotrope and a touch of agarwood. The Tokyo house J-Scent released it in 2017 as No. 12 in its line. Hanamachi, "flower town", is the name for Japan's geisha districts, and the scent leans into that picture of face powder, silk and flowers. Lemon, bergamot and ylang-ylang open it, a heart of rose, violet, iris, jasmine and heliotrope does most of the talking, and peach, vanilla, musk, cherry blossom leaf and a little agarwood make a soft, slightly fruity base.

Scent Character

Translation: floral first and last. Vanilla and peach give the sweet share, and the citrus opening the fresh one. The agarwood in the base is a soft accent inside the woody share rather than a separate oud note.
