Ex Nihilo Scarlet Sands EDP (Dubai Exclusive)
Description
Scarlet Sands opens on jammy raspberry and melts into white flowers and a plush amber-vanilla base, like a Dubai sunset. Composed by Jordi Fernández for Ex Nihilo, the Paris house, it launched in 2024 as a Dubai exclusive before a wider release through Harrods in 2025. It is inspired by the red light over the city as day turns to night. Raspberry and mandarin open it, orange blossom, jasmine and freesia form the heart, and amber, Akigalawood and vanilla settle it. The raspberry is the hook: reviewers say it is recognizable in the first seconds, sweet without being sharp, and softened by the florals.
Fragrance Pyramid
- Top: Raspberry, Mandarin
- Heart: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Freesia
- Base: Amber, Akigalawood, Vanilla
Note: Akigalawood is a woody material derived from patchouli, with a peppery, slightly spicy edge.
Performance
Longevity: Roughly 6–9 hours on skin.

Projection: About arm's length for the first few hours, then closer.
An honest note: reviews are split. Some wearers get a full day with several hours as a skin scent, others find it sits at the lower end of moderate and wish it were stronger.
