D'Orsay Nous Sommes Amants MD EDP
Description
Nous sommes amants. M.D. is Bertrand Duchaufour’s take on skin-to-skin love, a woody-spicy fragrance meant to feel like two people who share an intense connection just beneath the surface. Juniper berries, bamboo and pink pepper open crisp and green, resting on a single palo santo heart, before sandalwood, leather, musk and ambergris close it out. That “second-skin” quietness puts it closer to Duchaufour’s intimate work for L’Artisan Parfumeur than his louder Amouage compositions.
Scent Character
- Woody (sandalwood, cedar): 28%
- Spicy (black & pink pepper): 23%
- Fresh (juniper, bamboo): 22%
- Sweet (ambergris): 16%
- Woody & Smoky, oud-accord facet (Cypriol Oil / Nagarmotha): 11%
Translation: a green, peppery opening settling into palo santo, leather and sandalwood. The oud-like facet comes from Cypriol Oil (Nagarmotha), an oud-substitute material, not true agarwood.

FAQ
Is Nous sommes amants M.D. for men or women?
Unisex. Built as an intimate, “second-skin” fragrance meant to be shared.
Is there real oud in it?
No true agarwood. The smoky-woody facet comes from Cypriol Oil (also called Nagarmotha), a material commonly used as an oud substitute.
How loud does it wear?
Moderate to strong, with genuinely long 7–9 hour longevity, but the character is intimate rather than announcing itself.
What does “M.D.” stand for?
D’Orsay hasn’t disclosed it. The initials refer to an identity from Alfred d’Orsay’s love letters that the house keeps deliberately unrevealed.
