• Sauvage Eau de Toilette: François Demachy's 2015 original. Calabrian bergamot and pepper over lavender and Sichuan pepper, drying down to Ambroxan and cedar. The freshest of the five.
• Sauvage Parfum: the warmer 2019 version. Bergamot, mandarin and elemi over sandalwood, settling on olibanum, tonka and vanilla.
• Dior Homme Intense Eau de Parfum: François Demachy, 2011. Lavender, then iris, ambrette and pear over cedar and vetiver. Powdery and elegant.
• Dior Homme Parfum 2025 Edition: Francis Kurkdjian's rewrite of the Parfum. Iris and amber over patchouli and vetiver, softer and warmer than earlier versions.
• Fahrenheit Parfum: François Demachy, 2014. Suede, licorice and mandarin, then violet leaf and rum over Bourbon vanilla. The sweetest and darkest of the set.

How To Use a Discovery Set

Wear one fragrance per day on bare skin, one or two sprays on the wrist or neck, and leave it alone for a few hours. The opening is only the first chapter; the drydown is what you live with. Note which ones you keep going back to, then compare your two favorites side by side before choosing a full bottle.

Go from fresh to rich: Sauvage Eau de Toilette first, then Sauvage Parfum, Dior Homme Intense and Dior Homme Parfum, and Fahrenheit Parfum last. The last three read best on cool evenings.

Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the right amount, and it gives you several wears of each fragrance.
