City Rhythm San Diego Extrait
Description
San Diego, the house calls it Pacific Sunset, is City Rhythm's coastal extrait, released in 2022 at a 50% concentration.
Blood orange, juniper berry and sea salt open it bright and saline, with lavender and heliotrope underneath. The middle turns unexpectedly soft (almond, iris, nutmeg, coriander and Moroccan jasmine) before ambergris, driftwood and vanilla ground it. The idea is a warm evening at the water, and the almond is what stops it being just another marine fragrance.
Scent Character
- Fresh: 27% (blood orange, sea salt, juniper)
- Sweet: 21% (vanilla, almond)
- Floral: 20% (iris, jasmine, heliotrope)
- Spicy: 13% (nutmeg, coriander seed)
- Woody: 6% (driftwood)
Translation: salty citrus over a soft almond-vanilla heart with ambergris underneath. Bright and warm at once rather than coldly aquatic.
Fragrance Pyramid

Performance
Longevity: Remarkable, at 50% concentration it substantially outlasts the fresh-aquatic fragrances it sits alongside, which usually fade within hours.
Sillage: Strong and well-judged. Present without becoming heavy, helped by the citrus running through it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it just another aquatic?
No. The almond, iris and vanilla heart gives it a softness most marine fragrances lack, and the 50% concentration means it lasts where they do not.
Is it masculine or feminine?
Sold as unisex. Some wearers find the sea notes push it masculine, worth testing if that matters to you.
What does 50% extrait mean in practice?
Roughly triple the fragrance-oil load of an eau de parfum. Fewer sprays, considerably longer wear.
