Description

Nabati Oud is a spiced, rum-soaked oud with a rose-and-iris heart. Christian Provenzano composed it for Astrophil & Stella, and it takes its name from Nabati, the vernacular poetry of the Arabian Peninsula. The house calls it the spirit of the desert, deepened with oud. It opens warm and busy: rum, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon and saffron, with bergamot and ambrette for lift. The heart is a leather oud accord with Turkish rose, orris, davana and an aquatic note, and the base lays oud over sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, vetiver, vanilla and amber. It is made at 20% as an extrait.

How It Differs From Nabati

• Nabati Oud: spicier and warmer, with star anise, cinnamon and bergamot on top, orris and rose in the heart, and oud with sandalwood in the base.
• Nabati: drier and smokier, with sea salt up top, an aquatic cedar-iris heart and a leather oud, labdanum and moss base.

Scent Character

Translation: oud, rose and spice in near-equal parts, with rum and vanilla sweetness and a woody base. The small marine share is the aquatic accord in the heart.
