Zoologist Camel EDP

Description

Camel is a spice-market oriental: dates and dried fruit, frankincense and myrrh, cinnamon and rose, laid over musk and real oud. Composed by Christian Carbonnel for the Toronto house Zoologist and released in 2017, it follows a caravan across the desert toward a far-off market. Rose and succulent dried fruits open it with frankincense and palm date; the heart is incense, myrrh, amber, cinnamon, cedar, jasmine and orange blossom; the base is civet, musk, oud, sandalwood, tonka, vanilla and vetiver. The civet and musk are synthetic, and the house states that Camel uses no animal products. Parfumo's community lists L'Artisan Parfumeur Al Oudh among its closest matches.

Scent Character

Translation: woods and sweetness share the lead, from cedar, sandalwood, dates and vanilla. Real oud and a rose-jasmine floral thread sit just behind, with cinnamon as the spice accent.

Does Camel contain real oud?
Yes. Oud is listed in the base with civet, musk, sandalwood and vetiver. It adds a dry, woody depth under the sweet dates and resins.

Is it animalic?
