Widian Liwa Extrait

Description

Liwa sets saffron and jasmine against a dark base of oud, patchouli and vetiver: bright at the top, smoky and warm below. It is part of the Velvet Collection from Widian, the niche line of the Emirati house AJ Arabia, and was composed by Jordi Fernández in 2017. Liwa shares its name with the desert oasis region of Abu Dhabi. The opening pairs saffron with artemisia, bergamot and jasmine; the heart is white blossoms, amberwood and geranium; the base is oud, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood and vetiver. It balances East and West, floral and woody, and Parfumo users rate both its longevity and projection well above average.

Scent Character

Translation: woods and florals share the lead, with real oud and a fresh bergamot-artemisia lift close behind. The sweet and spicy shares are the saffron and amberwood: enough warmth to round it, not enough to make it sweet.
