Empty Wishes Well smells like an old stone well after the rain: wet earth, cold stone, dry leaves and a curl of myrrh. Composed by David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi for Toskovat', it is one of the house's quieter, more atmospheric pieces. A metallic top note, a nod to the coin at the bottom of the well, leads into petrichor, dusty stone, dried leaves and sage with resinous myrrh. The base is earthy and green: soil, patchouli, two vetivers from Java and Haiti, amyris, galbanum and carrot seed. The house frames it as a story about childhood wishes and the hope that outlasts them, and the scent is moody and mineral rather than sweet.
