Description

The Queen and The Viper is cool minted citrus laid over smoky resins, dates and blond tobacco. Released in 2025 by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777, the Paris niche house behind God of Fire, it is framed with Egyptian imagery: papyrus, a queen, a felucca crossing the Nile. The opening is bright and unusual, bergamot and spearmint with blackcurrant bud and a thread of incense. Osmanthus, jasmine sambac and clary sage soften the middle, and the base turns warm and dark with dates, burnt labdanum, saffron and birch. It starts out close to a herbal cologne and finishes as a resinous tobacco scent.

Scent Character

  • Fresh: 28%
  • Smoky & Boozy: 22%

Translation: fresh citrus and mint lead, with a smoky, resinous thread of incense, styrax and labdanum running underneath. The sweet share comes from dates and tobacco, the floral share from osmanthus and jasmine.

Performance

Longevity: Moderate. Plan on roughly 4 to 6 hours, with the resinous base lasting longest.
Sillage: Moderate. It stays in a close-to-medium radius and never fills a room.
Projection: About arm's length for the first hour or two, then closer to the skin.

An honest note: this is a 2025 release, so wear reports are still few. Treat these figures as a starting point.

Best Occasions & Season

Best in Spring and on mild Fall days, when the mint and citrus can breathe and the smoky base adds warmth. It works for daytime and the office because it never gets loud. Unisex. Skip it if you dislike minty or smoky notes, or want something purely sweet.
