Description

Five Sospiro fragrances, from bright citrus to boozy amber, including the cherry-almond gourmand Maraschino. Sospiro builds its whole collection around Italian perfumery and classical music, naming its fragrances for voices, tempos and musical moods. The house leans rich and generous, with Mediterranean citrus and fruit up top and ambers, woods and resins underneath. This set runs from the sparkling Vibrato to the dark, rum-soaked Il Padrino, so you hear the whole scale in five samples. Venba also carries a version of this set with Mezzo in place of Maraschino.

Five 1mL Eau de Parfum samples:

• Vibrato: grapefruit, bergamot, mandarin and ginger over magnolia and rose, resting on vetiver, sandalwood, musk, amber and tonka.
• Dolce Melodia: mandarin, orange and saffron, then pear, blackcurrant, jasmine and rose over vanilla, white musk and sandalwood.
• Maraschino: cherry, peach, strawberry and almond over heliotrope, iris, jasmine and mimosa, on amber, tonka, vanilla and patchouli.
• Basso: grapefruit opening onto labdanum and carnation, with a deep base of cedar, vetiver, guaiac wood, oakmoss and black and pink pepper.
• Il Padrino: blackcurrant, rum, amaretto and bergamot over amber, patchouli and sandalwood, finishing on vanilla, benzoin and labdanum.

How To Use a Discovery Set

Wear one fragrance per day on bare skin, one or two sprays on the wrist or neck, and leave it alone for a few hours. The opening is only the first chapter; the drydown is what you live with. Note which ones you keep sniffing, then compare your two favorites side by side before choosing a full bottle.

Start bright with Vibrato and Dolce Melodia, then move to Maraschino, Basso and finally Il Padrino, the richest of the five.

Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the right amount, and it gives you several wears of each fragrance.
