Description

Jany is Sora Dora's baked-pastry gourmand, composed by Margaux Le Paih Guérin and released in 2023. The house describes it as a homemade tarte tatin, and for once the marketing image is literal.

Roasted apple, peach and apricot open it, puff pastry and Ceylonese cinnamon fill the middle with osmanthus and plum, and it lands on caramel, vanilla, almond and walnut. Reviewers agree it is a strong, heady gourmand where every note announces itself: fruit and pastry first, nuts and caramel arriving a little later.

Scent Character

  • Sweet: 54% (caramel, vanilla, puff pastry)
  • Woody: 21% (almond, walnut, musk)
  • Floral: 8% (osmanthus)
  • Fresh: 8% (peach, apricot)
  • Spicy: 8% (Ceylonese cinnamon)

Translation: baked apple and warm pastry over nutty caramel. Unambiguously a dessert fragrance, and not one that pretends otherwise.

Fragrance Pyramid

  • Top: Roasted Apple, Peach, Apricot
  • Heart: Puff Pastry, Osmanthus Absolute, Plum, Ceylonese Cinnamon
  • Base: Caramel, Vanilla, White Musk, Almond, Walnut

Performance

Longevity: Good, as extrait concentration should be. Expect it to carry through an evening comfortably.

Sillage: Strong. Reviewers consistently describe it as heady with every note present at once. Two sprays is plenty.

Try Before You Commit

Decants start at $5.99 for 1 mL, with 5 mL and 10 mL sizes also poured. Worth doing on this one: opinion genuinely divides, and a few wearers find the cinnamon-apricot diffusion reads slightly synthetic. That is the kind of thing only your own nose settles.

100% Authentic

Every bottle is 100% authentic, backed by 200,000+ orders and a 4.9★ Trustpilot rating. Free standard US shipping on orders over $100, with hassle-free returns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a true gourmand?
Yes, without hedging. Baked apple, pastry, caramel and nuts are all clearly legible. This is not a woody fragrance with a sweet accent.

Why do some reviewers call it synthetic?
A minority find the cinnamon and apricot diffuse in a way that reads closer to a scented candle than to a bakery. Most do not, but it is a real split and worth sampling around.

Can it be worn in daytime?
It can, but its weight suits cooler evenings. In warm weather it becomes considerably more assertive.
