Porcelain Pulse is an English tea parlor in a bottle: black tea poured over tart rhubarb and pear, with a curl of tobacco underneath. It was released in 2024 by ROAN, the New York house founded by Helen Lee around her collection of teas gathered on her travels, and composed by Gino Percontino. The opening is unusual in the best way. Carrot, rhubarb, pear and cardamom sit on a brisk black tea, then Darjeeling, dried apricot, peony and lily take over before the scent settles onto hay, musk, tobacco, amber and vetiver. Reviewers describe fresh black tea with tart fruit and an earthy edge, and several say it is more complex and less sweet than the note list suggests.
