Prada Paradoxe Virtual Flower EDP
Description
Paradoxe Virtual Flower is a jasmine that was partly designed by machine, and, unusually for that pitch, ends up smelling like the real flower rather than a concept. Prada released it in August 2024 as the airiest chapter of the Paradoxe line, composed by Nadège Le Garlantezec, Antoine Maisondieu and Shyamala Maisondieu. The three used artificial intelligence to explore jasmine accords beyond the combinations a perfumer would reach for by habit, then built the result into a transparent floral: zesty Italian bergamot up top, jasmine and neroli through the middle, musk and ambrette holding the skin. The effect is clean and luminous rather than heady, white flowers with the windows open.
How It Differs From Prada Paradoxe
- Original Paradoxe is the warmer, more amber-musk reading: neroli and bourbon vanilla over a soft woody base, a comfort signature.
- Virtual Flower strips that back to the floral itself. Brighter, greener, considerably more transparent, with the jasmine doing the work the amber used to do.
- Choose Virtual Flower for daytime, warm weather and office wear; choose the original when you want presence and warmth.
Scent Character
- Floral: 61%
- Fresh: 19%
- Woody: 10%
- Sweet: 10%
Translation: a fresh white-floral musk, jasmine and neroli lifted by citrus, landing soft and skin-close rather than opulent.
Fragrance Pyramid
Top: Bergamot
Heart: Jasmine, Neroli
Base: Musk, Ambrette
Performance
- Longevity: moderate. Most wearers report roughly 5–7 hours, and many reapply once across a full day. We would rather set that expectation than promise more: this is a deliberately transparent composition, and transparency costs longevity.
- Sillage: soft to moderate. Noticeable in the first hour, intimate after that.
- Projection: about arm's length early, close to the skin thereafter.
Best Occasions & Season
- Season: spring and summer above all. The citrus-jasmine structure is built for warm air; it reads thin in deep cold
- Occasions: everyday wear, daytime, the office, and warm-weather evenings
- Wears: feminine
- Skip for: wintry formal evenings, where you want something with more weight

FAQ
What does “AI-designed” actually mean here? The perfumers used artificial intelligence to model and explore jasmine accords, widening the field of combinations they could evaluate. Humans still composed and signed the finished formula. The technology broadened the search, it did not replace the nose.
How long does it last? Around 5–7 hours for most wearers. Plan on a midday refresh if you want it present into the evening.
How does it compare to the original Paradoxe? Much lighter and more floral. The original leans warm amber-musk; Virtual Flower is the fresh, green, jasmine-forward reading of the same family.
Is it too sweet? No. Sweetness is a minor facet here. The composition sits firmly on the fresh-floral side, with musk and ambrette providing softness rather than sugar.
