Description

Cassili is the Parfums de Marly feminine that trades the house's usual rose-and-sparkle formula for something rounder and creamier: plum and frangipani resting on vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood. Released in 2019, it opens tart with red currant and Bulgarian rose, then softens within minutes into a milky white-floral heart. Where much of the Parfums de Marly wardrobe is built to be noticed across a room, Cassili is built to be noticed at conversational distance: a warm, faintly powdery fruity floral that reads polished rather than loud. Parfums de Marly was founded in Paris in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, drawing on the perfumed court culture of pre-revolutionary France, and Cassili sits in the softer, more wearable half of that catalogue.

The perfumer behind Cassili is not confirmed by the house and published sources disagree, so this page credits Parfums de Marly rather than naming a nose we cannot verify.

How It Differs From Parfums de Marly Delina

  • Delina is the extrovert: Turkish rose, lychee and rhubarb, unmistakably rosy, with a long projecting trail that announces itself.
  • Cassili is the introvert: plum and frangipani over vanilla and sandalwood, creamier, far less rosy, and deliberately closer to the skin.
  • Choose Cassili if you like Delina's polish but want something for daytime, an office or warm weather that will not fill the room. Choose Delina if the trail is the entire point.

Scent Character

  • Floral: 40%
  • Sweet: 30%
  • Woody: 30%

Translation: the measurement says floral, but what most people actually smell is the plum. Red currant supplies a brief tart opening, frangipani and mimosa carry a creamy tropical-floral middle, and the vanilla-tonka-sandalwood base takes it to the edge of gourmand without ever becoming a dessert.

Fragrance Pyramid

Top: Red Currant, Floral Notes, Bulgarian Rose

Heart: Frangipani, Plum, Petalia, Mimosa

Base: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood

Performance

  • Longevity: realistically 5–7 hours on skin. Reports genuinely diverge: some wearers get a full working day, others find it fading closer to 4–5 hours. It lasts considerably longer on fabric.
  • Sillage: moderate. Noticeable through the first hour or two, then it settles in close.
  • Projection, roughly arm's length early, then a skin scent. This is not one of the house's room-filling projectors, and it is not trying to be.

Best Occasions & Season

  • Season: Spring and Summer. The creamy florals open up in warmth and can read heavy in cold.
  • Occasions: everyday wear, daytime, work, leisure.
  • Skip for: deep winter, and nights out where you want a signature trail behind you.
  • Gender: catalogued and marketed as a women's fragrance; the composition is a soft fruity floral and wears distinctly feminine.

FAQ

Is Cassili a rose fragrance? Bulgarian rose is listed in the opening, but rose is not the story. Within minutes the plum and frangipani take over, and the drydown is vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood. If you want a rose from this house, Delina is the one to reach for.

How long does it last? Around 5–7 hours on skin for most people, with real variance. A minority report noticeably less. Spraying onto clothing or hair extends it considerably.

Is it too sweet? It is sweet, but the sweetness is creamy and floral rather than candied or bakery-like. The sandalwood keeps the base dry enough that it never tips into gourmand.

Which version is this? Cassili was released in 2019 and has no widely reported reformulation, so there is only one era of this juice to keep track of.
