• Black Afgano: green, herbal notes with saffron and thyme, then resins, tobacco and coffee, settling on oud, incense, amber, tonka and musk. Dense, smoky and resinous.
• Pardon: magnolia over dark chocolate, tonka and cinnamon, resting on oud and sandalwood. Sweet cocoa and warm woods, the gentlest of the five.
• Baraonda: a whiskey accord over rose and ambrette, drying down to musk, ambroxan and woods. Boozy at first, then a soft musky rose.

How To Use a Discovery Set

Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the correct amount, and it gives you roughly 15 sprays. Every vial is labeled with the fragrance name.

Wear one fragrance a day, on skin rather than a paper strip, and give it the whole day. The first ten minutes are the loudest and least representative part of any fragrance; judge it at hour three. Once you have a shortlist of two, wear them on opposite wrists and compare. Nasomatto extraits are concentrated, so one spray is enough to judge each one. Start with Pardon or Baraonda, and leave Black Afgano and Duro for a cool evening when you have time to let them settle.
