Description

Narcotica is a dark, green woody extrait with a streak of sugar running through it. It is the signature of the Italian niche house of the same name, composed by Claude Dir and released at the end of 2021. The idea is contrast. A dusting of sugar, cypress and black pepper opens it, then the heart turns green and earthy with a cannabis-leaf accord, dry patchouli, cypriol, vetiver and allspice. The base is agarwood, cashmere wood, amber, sandalwood and musk, so the drydown is warm and woody rather than sweet. Wearers tend to describe the green cannabis note as the part that makes it distinctive: leafy and resinous, sitting on top of a smooth oud and sandalwood base.

Scent Character

Translation: a woody fragrance at its core, with patchouli, vetiver and sandalwood carrying most of the weight. The sweet share is the sugar and amber, the spice is black pepper and allspice, and the small oud share is real agarwood in the base.
