• Instant Crush: saffron, ginger, mandarin and bergamot over amberwood, Moroccan rose, jasmine and patchouli, on vanilla, sandalwood, white musk and oakmoss. A warm, glossy rose-and-amber floral.
• Tonka Cola: black cherry, cinnamon, Sicilian lemon and nutmeg over a cola accord, patchouli and orange blossom, settling on tonka, vanilla, benzoin and labdanum. Spiced cherry cola turning into a soft vanilla.
• Aoud Blue Notes: fruity notes, lemon, bergamot, mandarin and green notes over violet, orris, rose and ylang-ylang, on guaiac wood, leather, amber, sandalwood and vanilla. A fresh-leaning floral with a leathery base.
• Cedrat Boise: Sicilian lemon, blackcurrant, bergamot and spice over jasmine and patchouli, drying down to leather, woods, vanilla and oakmoss. Citrus and fruit on a dry woody-leather base, the most versatile of the five.
• Red Tobacco: cinnamon, saffron, nutmeg, incense, green apple and oud over patchouli and jasmine, on tobacco, vanilla, amber, guaiac wood and vetiver. Smoky, spicy and sweet.

How To Use a Discovery Set

Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the correct amount, and it gives you roughly 15 sprays. Every vial is labeled with the fragrance name.

Wear one fragrance a day, on skin rather than a paper strip, and give it the whole day. The first ten minutes are the loudest and least representative part of any fragrance; judge it at hour three. Once you have a shortlist of two, wear them on opposite wrists and compare. Mancera compositions are dense, so start with a single spray of each; Red Tobacco in particular opens with a strong blast of cinnamon and smoke that changes a lot after the first hour.
