Description

Liquid Incense is frankincense before the flame: golden resin, clean air and polished wood. Released in 2026 by the Thai house Maksim Perfume and composed by founder Maxim Bortnikov, it takes incense in a brighter, more modern direction than the usual church smoke. Aldehydes, bergamot and pink pepper give a sparkling, slightly mineral and soapy-clean opening; frankincense and elemi form the resinous heart; and Haitian vetiver, agarwood and cedar dry it down into quiet, dry woods. The house describes the mood as the stillness of a hidden chamber: bright, mineral, warm and atmospheric.
