Sel Vanille is vanilla carried on a sea breeze: salty, herbal and warm, like sun on skin after a swim. Composed by David Maruitte for Maison Tahité, the vanilla-led line created with Officine Creative Profumi, it pairs the house's signature note with salt and driftwood. Herbal sage opens it, marine and aquatic notes with a touch of jasmine form the heart, and vanilla and cedarwood make the base. The salt is what makes it work: it cuts the sweetness so the vanilla reads as skin-warm and easy rather than edible.

Translation: marine first, which is unusual for a vanilla. The sweet, woody and floral shares are the vanilla, cedar and jasmine in close balance, and the fresh share is the sage.
