Maison Crivelli Rose Saltifolia EDP
Description
Rose Saltifolia is a salted rose: a full cabbage rose set against seaweed and sea air. Composed by Stéphanie Bakouche for Maison Crivelli, the Paris house founded by Thibaud Crivelli around the idea of unexpected sensory encounters, it was released in 2020. The house pictures an old-fashioned pink cabbage rose growing out of seagrass on the salt flats of a Brittany beach. Blood orange and pink pepper give it a bright, slightly sparkling start, rose centifolia absolute and seaweed absolute form the heart, and cashmeran adds a soft, expansive woody musk that frames the rose and the salt. It is a rose for people who find most roses too sweet or too powdery.
Fragrance Pyramid
- Top: Blood Orange, Pink Pepper
- Heart: Rose Centifolia, Seaweed
- Base: Cashmeran, Musk, Woody Notes
Note: the house publishes these notes as a single list. The tiers above follow how the fragrance unfolds on skin.
Performance
Longevity: Moderate. Expect around 5–7 hours on skin, with the rose lasting longest.
Sillage: Moderate. It keeps a clean, airy trail rather than a heavy one.
Projection: About arm's length for the first couple of hours, then a close, salty-musky skin scent.
An honest note: marine notes are naturally lighter than resins or ambers, so this wears softer than the rose alone might suggest.
Best Occasions & Season
Best in Spring and Summer, for everyday wear, weekends and warm evenings outdoors. Unisex: the salt and woods pull the rose away from a classic feminine floral. Skip it if you want a jammy, dark or oud-heavy rose.
