Description

M. Micallef Notorious XO is a 2025 eau de parfum from the French niche house founded by Martine Micallef, built around the idea of aged cognac in oak barrels (XO signals a cognac aged at least ten years). Fragrantica credits perfumer Daniela Marty. It opens with cognac, pepper and a watery lift, moves through leather, cinnamon, cardamom, oakmoss and tonka, and rests on vanilla, praline, sandalwood, amber and musk.

Scent Character

  • Sweet: 42%
  • Woody: 27%
  • Spicy: 23%
  • Leather: 8%

Translation: A boozy, spiced-sweet cognac with leather and warm woods, like a velvet lounge after dark.

Fragrance Pyramid

  • Top: Cognac, pepper, watery notes
  • Heart: Leather, cinnamon, oakmoss, cardamom, tonka bean
  • Base: Vanilla, sandalwood, praline, amber, musk

Performance

Reviewers report long wear, in some cases past nine hours, with moderate rather than huge projection. Our scale rates both longevity and sillage 4 out of 5, so expect a warm, close-to-arm's-length aura that lasts through an evening.
