Description

Semence Douce translates literally as "sweet seed" — though semence also means semen in French, and the double meaning is deliberate. Duchaufour was inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe’s photographs of tulips, translating the flower’s carnal curve into a gourmand-floral built on green sap, almond milk, tulip and saffron. It’s a meditation on birth, bloom, and stillness. Reviewers call it "highly distinctive," oscillating between sharp aldehydes and sweet, milky almond — opinion is divided on the almond note itself, with some finding it the fragrance’s best feature and others finding it clashes with the dewy florals underneath.
