Description

No. 8 is a childhood summer in an Icelandic village: tart rhubarb, bike rides and warm asphalt. Released in 2019 by Fischersund, the Reykjavík art collective run by Jónsi of Sigur Rós and his family, it draws on their childhood in Mosfellssveit, a small village just outside the city: long days outdoors, rhubarb taken from a neighbor's garden and dipped in honey, and the baked goods their grandmother brought each week. Rhubarb, grapefruit and petitgrain open it bright and tart, Sitka spruce and birch leaf give it a green, piney middle, and balsam fir, amber and an asphalt accord ground the base. It is the freshest and most easy-going of the house's numbered scents.

Scent Character

Translation: an even split: tart citrus-and-rhubarb freshness on top, spruce and fir underneath. There is little sweetness and no smoke, which is why it reads clean and daytime-friendly.
