Description

Dior Paradise is a sunlit almond, bitter-almond syrup wrapped in mandarin and lime, then softened by roasted tonka bean into something warm, edible and unmistakably Provençal.

Composed by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior's perfume creation director, for La Collection Privée and released in 2026, Paradise takes its starting point from the almond trees surrounding Château de La Colle Noire, Christian Dior's own house in Grasse. It is a citrus gourmand rather than a dessert: the almond arrives early and stays, the citrus keeps it bright, and the soft woods keep it dry. Reviewers describe it as radiant and easy to reach for, a daytime fragrance built for warm weather.

Scent Character

  • Fresh: 43%
  • Woody: 29%
  • Sweet: 28%

Translation: a citrus-led opening over almond-and-tonka sweetness, set on soft dry woods. The measurements read "fresh" first, but the note people actually remember is the bitter almond in the middle: think marzipan lit from behind by mandarin peel.

Fragrance Pyramid

Top: Orange, Lime, Mandarin

Heart: Bitter Almond, Syrup

Base: Tonka Bean, Woody Notes

Performance

  • Longevity: Moderate. Expect roughly 4–6 hours on skin and longer on fabric. This is a citrus-forward composition and it was not built for beast-mode wear; independent wearer ratings put its longevity around 7 out of 10.
  • Sillage: Moderate, a pleasant, close aura rather than a room-filler.
  • Projection: Noticeable through the first hour or two, then a soft almond-tonka skin scent. Plan on a top-up for a long day.

Best Occasions & Season

  • Season: Spring and Summer. The citrus-almond brightness is built for heat and daylight.
  • Occasion: Everyday and daytime wear, work, leisure, warm-weather travel.
  • Gender: Unisex, Dior positions it for everyone, and the almond-citrus balance bears that out.
  • Skip for: cold winter evenings, or if you want heavy, long-throwing projection.

FAQ

Is Dior Paradise a gourmand?
It is a citrus gourmand. The bitter almond and tonka bean give it an edible, marzipan-like warmth, but the mandarin-and-lime opening and dry woody base stop it short of reading like a dessert.

How long does it last?
Around 4–6 hours on skin for most wearers, longer on clothing. Like most citrus-forward fragrances it prioritises brightness over brute longevity.

Is it for men or women?
Unisex. Dior released it as a fragrance for everyone, and the almond-citrus structure is not gendered.

What inspired it?
The almond trees at Château de La Colle Noire in Grasse, Christian Dior's own home, which Francis Kurkdjian used as the reference point for the composition.

Why buy a decant instead of a bottle?
Paradise launched recently, so most buyers have no way to smell it locally before deciding. A 1mL or 5mL decant lets you wear it for a full day, including the drydown, before committing to a Collection Privée bottle.
