City Rhythm Collectors Set
Description
The City Rhythm Collectors Set puts thirteen of the house's extraits in one box, so you can travel the whole map before you buy a bottle. City Rhythm names each fragrance after a place, and most of the line lives on warm, beachy ground: coconut, rum, cane sugar, tropical fruit and driftwood. A handful of darker cities break the pattern, with tobacco, incense and cognac in Manhattan, Manhattan Midnight and Austin, and coffee liqueur in Nashville. It is the larger of the two City Rhythm sets at Venba; the five-scent Discovery Set is the quick introduction, and this one is the full survey.
What's Inside
Thirteen 1mL samples of City Rhythm Extrait de Parfum:
- 2654: blood orange, coconut and sea salt over jasmine, almond and sugar cane, drying down to rum, ambergris and tonka.
- 86.41: guava, mango milk and pineapple, then coconut, honeydew and cane sugar on a rum and vanilla base.
- Austin: tobacco and cognac over leather and oak, settling into amber, sandalwood and vanilla.
- Barcelona: sparkling wine and pomegranate turning to red wine, cherry and rose, with cedar, amber and chocolate underneath.
- Manhattan: cinnamon and bergamot over tea, chili and frankincense, ending in vanilla, vetiver and tobacco.
- Manhattan Midnight: the darker cut: cassia and bergamot, then cistus, frankincense and myrrh over tobacco and vanilla.
- Martha's Vineyard: black coconut, plum and orange zest over jasmine and orris, finishing on soft woods, musk and driftwood.
- Miami: lime, coconut and saffron with ylang-ylang and osmanthus, drying to rum, cedar, tobacco and ambergris.
- Miami Tropical Confessions: coconut milk, hibiscus and lime, then white rum, jasmine and magnolia on sandalwood, tonka and vanilla.
- Nashville: Irish cream and nutmeg sliding into cocoa liqueur and mocha, finishing on coconut cream, coffee and vanilla.
- Puerto Rico: lime, mango, pineapple and milk over coconut, melon and neroli, with vanilla, musk and driftwood.
- San Diego: blood orange, sea salt and lavender over almond, iris and jasmine, resting on ambergris and driftwood.
- St. John: guava, quince and coconut, then cane sugar, lavender and passion fruit over rum, sandalwood and vanilla.
How To Use a Discovery Set
Wear one fragrance per day on bare skin, one or two sprays on the wrist or neck, and leave it alone for a few hours. The opening is only the first chapter; the drydown is what you live with. Note which ones you keep sniffing, then compare your two favorites side by side before choosing a full bottle.
With thirteen to get through, sort them first. Try the bright tropical group (86.41, Puerto Rico, St. John, Miami Tropical Confessions) in warm weather, and save the tobacco and spice group (Austin, Manhattan, Manhattan Midnight, Nashville) for cooler evenings.
Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the right amount, and it gives you several wears of each fragrance.
