Adonis Awakens is a romantic rose, fruity at first and creamy with sandalwood by the dry down. Argos released it in 2022 as part of its Artist Series II, inspired by John William Waterhouse's painting The Awakening of Adonis and the myth of the white rose turned red. Bergamot, grapefruit and pink peppercorn open it brightly. The heart is Bulgarian rose and jasmine sambac with raspberry, a touch of chestnut and vanilla, so the rose reads jammy and soft rather than green. The base returns to rose through rose absolute, laid over Mysore sandalwood and cashmere wood. Reviewers call it a truly unisex rose.
