Description

Sindbad is honeyed fruit and black tea at Essence de Parfum strength, made as a limited edition for Oman. Amouage created it in 2025 with the Royal Opera House Muscat, inspired by the legendary Omani sailor, and released it through the opera house and selected Amouage boutiques in Oman. Pierre Negrin composed it for The Essences, Amouage's 30% concentration line. It opens on a full bowl of honey, apricot, mango, pomegranate, tangerine and grapefruit, spiced with cardamom, ginger and pink pepper. Black tea, a cappuccino accord and davana follow, and it settles on tonka, vanilla, cedarwood, vetiver, cypriol, patchouli and labdanum.

Scent Character

Translation: fruit and woods share the lead. The fresh share is the citrus and ginger up top, the sweetness comes from honey, tonka and vanilla, and the Rich Ambers share is the labdanum and patchouli base, not oud.

Performance

Longevity: Long. Reviewers report 10 hours or more on skin, and it holds on fabric for days.
Sillage: Strong for the first 3 to 4 hours, then it becomes more intimate while still leaving a trail.
Projection: Good early on, though at least one reviewer notes it sits closer to the skin than a typical Amouage.

Best Occasions & Season

Best in cooler weather, from autumn through early spring. Evenings, celebrations and special occasions suit it; the honey and fruit turn heavy in summer heat. Unisex.

Does Sindbad contain oud?
No. There is no agarwood in the formula. The darker depth comes from labdanum, patchouli and cypriol in the base.

What is an Essence de Parfum?
It is Amouage's highest concentration, at 30%, used for The Essences line. Expect more depth and staying power than an Eau de Parfum.

Is Sindbad men's or women's?
Unisex. The honey and fruit are generous, while the tea, woods and labdanum keep it balanced.

What does the cappuccino note add?
